Job description

Cruz Associates, Inc. of Yorktown VA has an open position and is looking for qualified candidates for an Industrial Engineer. The job location is at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Indian Head, MD.


Scope of Performance: This position is that of an Industrial Engineer, Indian Head Naval Surface Warfare Center, MD. This position will be full-time and onsite (40 hrs. weekly). Industrial engineers will focus on improving systems, processes and efficiency across new and existing operations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with design reviews, installation quality control and safety documentation preparation
  • Support and coordinate facility projects following strict scheduling guidelines
  • Manage day-to-day operations for equipment commissioning and start up plans for various energetic production facilities
  • Knowledge of hazardous material handling and industrial processing technology
  • Manage and maintain meeting minutes and action tracking to ensure efficient operations
  • Ability to manage quality plans and reports for process improvements for data analysis and policy development
  • Lead or support design integrated systems ensuring everything works efficiently
  • Understand hazard analysis techniques and safety documentation as required to successfully accomplish tasking
  • Utilize software tools to simulate processes and predict outcomes before implanting changes in real time
  • Work alongside process improvement teams to streamline production and energetic systems


Education and Experience – REQUIRED:

  • U.S. Citizen
  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering or closely related field
  • 5+ years’ experience in industrial engineering or related field
  • Vast knowledge in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to gain/maintain Secret Clearance
  • Strong analytic skills in data analysis tools and software
