Job description

Job Title: Warehouse Associate
Location: Jackson, MI 49203
Pay Rate: $19.00/hour
Shift: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM (12-hour shift - rotating 2-2-3 schedule)  
 
Qualifications:
  • Makes decisions regarding the safe operation of shipping equipment, resolves safety issues, and troubleshoots problems, referring deviations to the Shipping Team Leader.
  • Capable of moving heavy objects safely (not exceeding 60 pounds) without assistance (dolly, forklift, or team member).
  • Performs frequent and prolonged standing/walking, pushing/pulling, and moving/lifting supplies.
  • Engages in reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders or stairs.
  • Works within a vinyl siding manufacturing environment that may be noisy and dusty.
  • Must possess or obtain licensure for a motor vehicle or lift truck.
  • Able to work 8+ hour shifts, withstand heat/cold, and tolerate chemical odors.
  • Must comply with all safety requirements, including PPE usage.

Responsibilities:
  • Under supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor, gather warehouse products, scan into inventory, prepare for shipment, and load onto trucks.
  • Supply the production line with corrugated boxes, remove finished products, and clear scrap skids.
  • Unload shipments of chemicals, equipment, and interplant materials; deliver to proper storage locations.
  • Ensure loads are packed according to order specifications and weight distribution.
  • Pick loads for shipment, verify with pack sheets, and load carrier trucks.
  • Remove skids from production lines, scan, and place on warehouse racks.
  • Organize inventory and perform daily cycle counts.
  • Operate wrapping machines safely and efficiently, prioritizing pallets.
  • Stock necessary materials like corrugated boxes.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the shipping area.
  • Dock trailers using the Ottowa machine.
  • Arrange for shipping equipment and truck repairs as needed.
  • Train new warehouse associates on procedures.
  • Perform management-assigned projects.
  • Operate forklifts safely.
  • Unload inbound materials, verify loads against packing sheets.
  • Ship small packages via UPS.
  • Enter materials into SAP system in the absence of the Team Leader.
