WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) Risk Assurance team is undertaking critical initiatives to strengthen identity governance and security controls across RBC's enterprise. In this role, you will be responsible for strategically managing IAM compliance with enterprise standards, processes, risk and controls while maintaining alignment with RBC's risk appetite and regulatory requirements.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Identify and Track Issues: Identify and track IAM-related issues and action plans in accordance with enterprise standards, ensuring accountability and timely resolution.

  • Manage IAM Risks: Oversee IAM-related risks, maintaining accountability with risk owners and remediation owners while ensuring compensating controls and impact mitigation strategies are understood and documented.

  • Support Audit Activities: Monitor audit issues, support IAM business units, and partner with audit coordinators to complete action plans and guide remediation and closure activities.

  • Address Regulatory Inquiries: Analyze and form opinions on how to address audit and regulatory inquiries and associated findings (e.g., MRAs), providing expert guidance to internal initiatives and project teams.

  • Report on Emerging Risks: Report and communicate on emerging risk trends, assist in producing reports and dashboards for senior leadership communications to support informed decision-making.

  • Meet Risk Assessment Timelines: Complete all risk activities according to the assessment plan and required timelines, escalating items promptly to ensure completion dates are met.

  • Represent IAM in External Interactions: Represent the IAM team on risk-related issues in interactions with regulators, internal and external auditors, and the Second Line of Defense, in collaboration with the IAM governance team.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must Have:

  • Relevant Education & Experience: Undergraduate degree coupled with change management experience in complex programs, demonstrating ability to manage high-frequency requests and multiple competing priorities.

  • Strong Communication Skills: Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication, including strong presentation abilities. Ability to assess stakeholder information and communication needs and tailor messaging accordingly.

  • Project & Time Management: Strong organizational, project management, and time management capabilities with proven ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.

  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry, with awareness of relevant regulatory and risk management practices.

  • Results-Oriented Mindset: Deadline-driven and results-oriented professional capable of consistently meeting high-quality standards while managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
