Myers/Naples, Houston, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Orlando, Raleigh, San Antonio, Sarasota, and Tampa.

Job Summary:

Lead the marketing function through the development of marketing strategies for M/I’s products and services that are in line with corporate objectives on a divisional basis. Coordinate appropriate market research initiatives that will determine effective result-based media and direct marketing programs that target to desired demographic groups and increase unit absorption. Effectively interface and partner with VP of Sales and Marketing to achieve their sales objectives through optimal, result-based marketing programs that consistently support the company’s objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement comprehensive marketing strategies and corresponding plans and programs, both short and long range, to support sales, revenue and overall strategic objectives.
  • Recommend marketing strategies for company’s housing communities to include community and sales presentations, model homes and amenity features.
  • Build effective partnerships with senior managers to determine specific product positioning, pricing matrix and promotional strategies.
  • Research, analyze, and monitor financial, technological, and demographic factors to capitalize on market opportunities and minimize effects of competitive activity.
  • Partnering with Corporate Marketing Department to formulate advertisement and promotional activities including print, online, electronic media, and direct mail with appropriate distribution channels.
  • Organize, manage and execute the creation of the M/I Home Store in each community including overseeing the installation of the technology (kiosks, copiers, sound systems) and store contents. This includes upkeep and maintenance of the Store with inspections during regular field visits.
  • Onboarding and continuing marketing training of all Sales and Associates and New Home Consultants, use of marketing tools, social media coaching and proper use of any marketing deliverables for division/corporate campaigns or special promotions.
  • Regular field visits to M/I Communities to evaluate signage, flags and banners in an effort to achieve a strong overall community presentation. Field visits should also include exploring the area competition for their marketing and overall community presentation.
  • Review and suggest product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share.
  • Partner with VP, Sales & Marketing to monitor competitive products and marketing activities.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with industry influencers and key strategic partners.
  • Conduct marketing surveys on current and new product concepts, and provides feedback for future product development.
  • Guide preparation of marketing activity reports and presents to executive management.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image and brand throughout all product lines, promotional materials, and events.
  • Assist with special projects as requested and perform additional duties as required.

Requirements

Minimum Education Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent in specialized training from a four-year college in conjunction with a minimum of 5 years related work experience. Experience in home building is a plus but not required. Willingness to travel is required.

Skills and Abilities:

Excellent communicator with strong organizational savvy and leadership skills necessary to interface with and influence executive level managers. Ability to think strategically. Strong analytical skills. Demonstrated record of marketing expertise. Ability to be innovative. Must be able to establish plans that respond to the needs of a rapidly changing environment.
