Department Information
The Department of Marketing and Logistics is one of the larger departments in the Mike Cottrell College of Business (MCCB) and includes a major in Marketing, with concentrations in Digital Marketing, Professional Sales, and General Marketing. We are also in the process of establishing Logistics as a major field of study in the BBA degree program. The MCCB is an AACSB-accredited business school with over 4,000 students across five campuses. The College includes the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation and the Truist Center for Ethical Leadership. In addition to the BBA, the College offers undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, and Management and two associate degrees. Graduate programs include the Cottrell MBA, Master of Accountancy, and three graduate certificates. The international group of teacher-scholars provides an exceptional learning community to prepare students for their professional roles and to engage with business and industry in the region to foster economic development.
Job Summary
The Department of Marketing and Logistics in the Mike Cottrell College of Business invites applicants for the position of part-time faculty in Marketing for the spring - summer fall of 2026. The successful candidate will teach primarily undergraduate courses in marketing on multiple campuses. Teaching the Introduction to Business course is a possibility.

Responsibilities
  • Use innovative teaching and learning techniques to provide high-quality marketing (digital marketing, professional sales, advertising, etc.) courses.
  • Engage in significant and sustained business activities (e.g., consulting) related to marketing.
  • Engage with the business community to further the goals of the Mike Cottrell College of Business (e.g., connecting students to potential employers).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning practices
  • knowledge of theoretical and applied concepts of marketing
  • Ability to demonstrate best practices of written and oral communication
  • Ability to work as part of a collaborative team; passion for working with students to develop their skills and expertise.

Required Qualifications
  • An earned master's degree in an area with a primary focus on marketing, with at least eighteen graduate hours in marketing or equivalent, preferably from an AACSB-accredited institution, required at the time of hire.
  • Recent substantive and significant industry experience relevant to the marketing field.
