Job description

The Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORSยฎ (GCAAR), one of the nationโ€™s largest local real estate associations serving more than 11,000 members, is looking for an experienced, detail-oriented content marketing whiz to fill our Education Associate role. Reporting to the Education Manager, the role will be an integral part of our education team.

This is a full-time position for a highly organized, self-motivated individual with strong people skills. This position is hybrid and will be expected to be in the Rockville, MD office 4 days per week, depending on in person class schedule.

Major Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support continuing education (CE) and professional development, including coordination with instructors and students, as well as the organization of courses and classes.
  • Proctor education classes, enforce commission rules, and maintain records of attendance. Provide students with proof of course completion as needed.
  • Support the distribution, coordination, and collection of course outlines, speaker information, and materials. Assist with educational content for marketing campaigns and work with the communications team to execute.
  • Answer general education questions received through incoming phone calls and emails.
  • Submit credits to the Maryland, DC and Virginia Real Estate Commissions and provide students with certificates of completion.
  • Maintain education information in the database and on the associationโ€™s website. Update and maintain education-related web pages and the CE and non-CE calendar on the website.
  • Assist with the execution of the educational components at the annual convention, conferences and special events. Handle meeting logistics, assist with on-site activities, and coordinate ID checks for CE sessions.
  • Compile evaluations of instructors and GCAAR educational offerings and prepare summary reports.
  • Assist with the coordination of logistics for designation and certification offerings.
  • Serve as backup for the Member Services department, including cross-training in all aspects of member service and support.
  • Assist at special events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
  • 2-3 years previous office support or administrative experience in a similar setting.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree from an accredited university preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and proofreading skills.
  • Self-confident team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent customer service provider and oriented to solve problems.
  • Developing knowledge of learning/instructional processes and program planning.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and databases, Rapattoni desired.
  • Effective project management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Able to meet time-sensitive deadlines, multitask, and work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and move items, up to 20 pounds to facilitate in person classes.
  • Able and willing to work a flexible schedule that will include evening and weekend work.
