Overview
As a TAG Accounting Operations Associate on our finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the growth, stability, and operational excellence of the organization. We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented Accounting Operations Associate who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and helping create accurate, reliable financial operations. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting or finance career who wants exposure to a broad range of accounting functions in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. The right candidate is proactive, highly dependable, comfortable managing multiple priorities, and interested in growing within accounting and finance operations.
Security Requirement:
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US Government SECRET security clearance is required.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Support month-end billing and invoices across assigned projects.
  • Process subcontractor and independent contractor invoices and vendor accounts payables.
  • Manage employee expense reporting and weekly accounting payable processing.
  • Process weekly accounts payable check run.
  • Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies, variances, and accounting issues.
  • Create and maintain organized financial reports using Excel and accounting systems.
  • Support internal and external audit requests.
  • Identify areas of opportunity to become more efficient in processes and reporting.
  • Create and document processes and procedures to ensure consistency of practice
  • Partner with team members across finance and operations to support organizational goals.
  • Contribute to special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelors in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of accounting, finance, operations or related experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and strong sense of ownership.
  • Ability to work collaboratively while also managing responsibilities independently.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in accounting for a government contracting environment.
  • Secret clearance preferred.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Understanding of US GAAP principles.
