Accounting Clerk - Accounts Payable Focus
Location: West Chester, OH
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Schedule: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk with a strong focus on Accounts Payable to join their growing team in West Chester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced accounting environment and is looking for a long-term opportunity with room for growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Process and enter vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documentation
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor inquiries
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH payments, and electronic payments
• Maintain accurate vendor records and assist with vendor setup
• Reconcile vendor statements and ensure outstanding items are resolved promptly
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations and journal entry support
• Monitor Accounts Payable aging reports and help ensure timely payment of invoices
• Maintain organized accounting records and documentation for audit purposes
• Support the accounting team with additional clerical and administrative accounting functions as needed
Qualifications
• Previous experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting Clerk, or related accounting role
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems preferred
• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred but not required
