Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for the management and control of general ledger, property assets and the accounting for specific purpose funds. Primary functions involve financial statements and report preparation. Exhibits the F.I.R.S.T. values (Friendliness, Innovation, Respect, Service, and Trust).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Responsible for the timely generation of financial statements, with constant re-engineering of the month end process to expedite the availability of the facility's operating figures.
  2. Generates information for year-end audits by hospital auditors, third parties, and other taxing entities.
  3. Reconciles all EMH and EMRMC balance sheet accounts monthly including bank reconciliation.
  4. Manages the additions/revisions of computer revenue/expense centers which make up the composition of the facility's statements.
  5. Trains departmental staff and recommends appropriate continuing education to further develop Associates, as well as themselves.
  6. Works with outside accounting and management consulting firms relative to designated projects.
  7. Demonstrates commitment to accountability and growth to maintain and expand knowledge and skills.
  8. Contributes to the achievement of the mission and philosophy of the organization.
  9. Contributes to the effective operations of the organization by demonstrating dependability in job performance.
  10. Demonstrates a commitment to incorporating the core concepts of patient family centered care into practice (dignity, respect, information sharing, and participation).
  11. Demonstrates a commitment to the development and implementation of shared governance across the Organization.
  12. Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS, HAZARDS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Long periods in a stationary position with prolonged concentration, occasionally necessary to do move light objects. Must be able to move or position 25 lb.
CONTACTS WITH OTHERS:
Associates, community and board members, and sales vendors.
EQUIPMENT USED/SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED:
Office equipment used. Strong computer, organizational, oral and written communication, and analytical skills.
Three (3) years progressive experience in a financial setting with supervisory/management exposure.
