Accounting Generalist
Position Summary
The Accounting Generalist is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with various accounting functions. This role performs a portion of the accounts payable process while also supporting account reconciliations, general ledger maintenance, reporting, and other administrative accounting duties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced office environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Process assigned accounts payable transactions, including invoice review, coding, data entry, and payment preparation.
  • Verify invoices for accuracy and proper approvals before processing.
  • Assist with vendor statement reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain vendor records and support vendor communications regarding payment inquiries.
  • Prepare and post journal entries as assigned.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and support documentation.
  • Assist with financial reporting and audit requests.
  • Monitor compliance with company accounting policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and team members to support accounting operations.
  • Provide administrative support to the accounting department as needed.
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Education and Experience
  • Associate's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts payable experience preferred.
