Department Overview:

Nomura's Finance department manages the company's financial operations and provides financial guidance to support business decision-making. Role Description:

  • Month-End Close Activities:  Downloading and verifying bank statements, reconciling exchange accruals, managing exchange daily les, and updating payment-for-order-ow (PFOF) accruals.
  • Reconciliations:  Reconciling billing system data with exchange invoices, daily and monthly exchange data, and PFOF actuals across multiple counterparties.
  • Journal Entry Preparation:  Preparing and booking journal entries for accruals, actuals, connectivity fees, and other charges, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and Peoplesoft uploads.
  • Supporting Reports:  Preparing, refreshing, and e-mailing preliminary and nal reporting les (P&L, tiers, AOS/Precision, and client billing).
  • Other Key Procedures: Refreshing kickout les, updating OCC les, uploading rules to billing system, reconciling unclaimed wires, and ensuring alignment with exchange fee schedules and updates.

Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required:

  • 4+ years of experience in Financial Services organization in an Accounting role
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from accredited college/university
  • Strong accounting technical skills
  • Experience with Options products is required  
  • Ability to research US GAAP independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent analytics, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced in MS Office particularly in Excel
  • Data Visualization tools are a plus
