Human Resources Associate
Join the Open Door Mission's team of dedicated staff who are committed to full-time ministry and breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty!
ABOUT THIS POSITION
The HR Associate assists in administrative duties related to Human Resources functions, including employee record-keeping, training, and general administration. This position is responsible for maintaining Open Door Mission's recruitment process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
A full job description will be provided for review during the interview process.
  • Maintain and update all open job postings.
  • Serve as primary communication with applicants, including pre-screening, interview scheduling, offers of hire, and rejection letters.
  • Communicate with the hiring team for each position regarding applications, interviews, and post-interview follow-up.
  • Plan and conduct orientation of new employees, including an explanation of Open Door Mission and employee policies.
  • Follow up with new employees throughout the onboarding process.
  • Maintain an updated and compliant file on each employee in order to have his or her information current and available when needed.
  • Process employee life cycle events: terminations, hires, life-events, status changes, etc.
  • Exemplify Jesus Christ daily, sharing the gospel or praying with others as opportunities arise.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE...
  • A visible relationship with Christ, regularly attending a Bible-believing church.
  • 2 years of business administrative experience, HR-related preferred.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal. Ability to present information to individuals and small groups.
  • Fluent computer skills, specifically in Microsoft and Google Suite.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage and keep track of a variety of tasks.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and integrity.
  • High emotional intelligence and ability to build relationships.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certificate preferred.
