Job description

Lead Associate

DMMI Production 1 - GIC Line 1, Plasma, Tube Mill & Core Assembly (GIC0), Dept. 3332

Core Hours:  3:00 PM - 11:30 PM

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent. 
  • Willing to commit to the area for 2 years.
  • To be selected for a Lead Associate you must go through a selection process, consisting of: 
    • (1) Mechanical skill assessment   
    • (2) Panel Interview
  • Pre-Qualify (REQUIRED PRIOR TO POSTING** See HRBP/Associate Relations for details
    • Pass Mechanical Assessment
  • Selection of eligible candidates for each position will be based on the following selection criteria: 
    • Combined score + (1) Same Shift, (2) All Shifts.
  • Once selected, you will need to complete all foundation course and process skill requirements to be promoted to a Level II Lead Associate.     

  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Common responsibilities: Perform all routine process operations at high level of efficiency and effectiveness, i.e. standardized work, quality checks, material changes, preventive maintenance, common adjustment, fault recovery.  Demonstrate advanced problem-solving and innovation. Teach others using D-JI methods.
  • Process skill responsibilities: Complex change over and fault recovery. Deep process knowledge, i.e. machine operation, processing, function. Advanced troubleshooting and fault recovery.

Bi-lingual competency highly preferred in languages that reflect the Battle Creek community.

MINIMUM POSTING ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • More than 2 years, if currently in a Lead Associate position, unless promotable

  • Last Performance Appraisal Meets or Better

  • No Active Written Discipline

  • Must be able to pass DENSO Job Specific Communication Assessment

  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position
