Lazard is seeking an Experienced Associate to work as a key part of lean deal teams on M&A and other strategic assignments, providing immediate and meaningful exposure to senior bankers and senior client executives. Healthcare Associates in the San Francisco office work on a variety of strategic transactions for leading and emerging pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life science tools & diagnostics companies. The San Francisco-based team is a key part of Lazard's global healthcare practice and leads the coverage and execution of transactions for companies across the U.S. Lazard is differentiated among the leading investment banks in our history of investing in Associates and developing them into successful senior bankers.
We'll trust you to:
  • Perform a variety of financial analyses and create complex models
  • Prepare and create client presentations and meeting materials
  • Interact with client senior executives
  • Manage deal processes
  • Conduct research on relevant companies / sectors
  • Help prepare for key industry events hosted by Lazard
  • Provide guidance to teammates at the Analyst level

You'll need to have:
  • At least one year of investment banking experience at the Associate level (strong preference for those with M&A deal experience)
  • Demonstrated experience in Healthcare, particularly in the Life Sciences (e.g., biopharma, diagnostics & tools, etc.)
  • Strong financial modeling skills and quantitative background coupled with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills with ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and be a team player with a strong motivation to contribute to a positive team culture
  • Ability to effectively lead Analysts and provide training and guidance
  • Top academic performance with comfort operating in a fast-paced environment that values initiative, creativity, maturity, and poise

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $185,000 - $250,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant's years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Base salary is one component of Lazard Financial Advisory's compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
