Job Description:

GDIT is seeking an International HR Assistant to support the International Human Resources (IHR) and Global Mobility Team. This position is assigned to help manage International Assignments (expatriate administration) and the administration of personnel who are relocating outside of the U.S. The International HR Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to other Global Mobility professionals by tracking actions for assignments, international transfers, and new hires. The successful candidate will administer Expatriate / International Assignees assignment on- and off-boarding, Human Resource Information System (HRIS) data entry, draft International Assignment Letters for expatriate assignments, maintain International HR SharePoint sites, generation of reports, and soft- and hard-copy records management. Lead and support processing international assignment forms and documentation, as well as, U.S. and non-U.S. tax and payroll forms.

This position will also provide support to the Global Mobility Immigration lead in the administration of expatriate and U.S. non-immigrant visas and records

MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT

  • Support the day-to-day administration of the global mobility program;
  • Report daily, weekly, and periodic metrics to support the administration of the mobility program;

  • Maintain International; Shared Network folders, SharePoint, and hard-copy files;

  • Primary support for employee / candidate access to expatriate management system;

  • Enter HRIS information and process forms related to new international assignees, transfers, or status changes;

  • Maintain and support the department e-mail account including archiving, responses to inquiries, processing of forms, and other communications;

  • Track expatriate employees via data entry and reporting;

  • Generate employee verification, immigration support letters for foreign national and subcontract employees;

  • Process invoices for department vendors as needed;

  • Immigration Support Role:

    • Manage physical and digital PAFs, ensuring proper labeling, retention, and destruction of expired files

    • Manage I-9 monthly reverification process for Foreign National employees

    • Weekly Workday Data Integration of new hire or current employee renewal immigration visa or Employment Authorization Document (EAD) information

    • Post and track office postings, as required;

  • Participates in special projects as required;

  • Back-up administration for:

    • Generating travel reports;

    • Social security treaty applications and coordination with stakeholders; (home and host payroll, tax, HR, employees, etc.); and

    • Foreign vehicle program tracking and data entry

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

  • Education: Associates degree. In lieu of degree, 5+ years relevant experience with HR, IHR, or other related functional department such as Immigration or Relocation.
  • Experience: 3+ years relevant experience with HR, IHR, or other related functional department such as Immigration or Relocation
  • Technical skills: Proficiency in the use of Workday, MS Office including strong Excel skills, SharePoint and other records and collaboration systems
  • Role requirements:
    • Position requires a self-motivated, professional, capable of prioritizing workload and schedule
    • Effective administrative and organizational skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    • Knowledge of general human resources practices and procedures
  • Location: This is a hybrid position working at our GDIT facility in Falls Church, VA. Must be comfortable working onsite a minimum of 3 days a week. The schedule would be Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $22.26 - $28.85. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
