Job description

TEAM OVERVIEW

The Credit Financing team is part of KKR's Global Macro and Asset Allocation (GMAA) platform and is responsible for developing, structuring, executing, and managing financing solutions across KKR's global credit platform.

The team partners closely with portfolio managers to develop and execute financing strategies that optimize capital structures across private credit funds, BDCs, evergreen institutional vehicles, SMAs, and other investment strategies globally. The team executes financing solutions across the capital structure, including asset-backed lending facilities, middle market CLOs and CLO warehouse facilities, NAV financing solutions, financing solutions for KKR's ABF portfolios, repo facilities, unsecured debt, private placements, and other bespoke financing structures. Beyond transaction execution, the team oversees firmwide liability management.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Associate/Principal will play a central role in structuring, negotiating, and executing financing transactions across KKR's global credit platform. The role provides exposure to a broad range of financing products and capital structure solutions while partnering with portfolio managers to develop innovative financing strategies.

The Associate/Principal will work closely with portfolio managers, senior management, financing counterparties, legal counsel, rating agencies, and other key internal and external stakeholders to originate and execute transactions, optimize capital structures, and develop innovative financing solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the structuring, negotiation, execution, and ongoing management of financing transactions across KKR's global credit platform.
  • Drive legal negotiations alongside internal and external counsel for new financings, amendments, extensions, waivers, refinancings, and other strategic liability management initiatives.
  • Develop and execute financing strategies by evaluating lender appetite, market conditions, and capital structure alternatives.
  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate financing economics, borrowing capacity, structural terms, covenant compliance, and transaction risk.
  • Research new financing products, market developments, and capital structure innovations to broaden KKR's financing capabilities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with financing counterparties, institutional investors, and syndicate partners.
  • Present financing recommendations, market updates, and liability management strategies to senior investment committees and executive leadership.
  • Identify and implement AI and technology solutions to automate workflows, improve data management, and build scalable tools that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
  • Support firmwide liability management initiatives and other strategic projects.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-6+ years of experience in credit financing, asset-backed finance, structured finance, leveraged finance, fund finance, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of credit facilities, structured credit products, financing documentation, and market conventions.
  • Experience structuring and negotiating financing transactions with lenders and legal counsel is preferred.
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex financing structures and transaction economics.
  • Demonstrated interest in private credit markets and financing innovation, with the ability to identify creative capital structure solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple live transactions simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
  • Highly collaborative, intellectually curious, and proactive, with strong judgment and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team environment.

WHY JOIN KKR

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the financing strategy for one of the industry's leading private credit platforms. The successful candidate will gain broad exposure across investment strategies, financing products, senior leadership, and firmwide strategic initiatives while executing innovative, market-leading transactions that support KKR's global credit business.
