Job description

Kingspan Light + Air is an award-winning innovator of daylighting and ventilation solutions for high-performance building envelopes, offering a wide range of high-quality solutions, including translucent daylighting systems, skylights, smoke, and natural ventilation products.

To help us continue to grow our business, we’re searching for a CNC Set-up/Programmer. The position is responsible for safely and accurately setting up and running the CNC machine. Operators work from design specifications, patterns and drawings, using a variety of tools and machines to make metal parts and/or perform some assembly within the company quality manual standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely and securely move required materials through the various stages of the product life cycle as outlined in the process workflow. This is completed under direction of the department supervisor.
  • Properly setup the equipment/machinery and verify that:
  • All safety devices and measures are active and in place.
  • The equipment/machine is operating properly.
  • All gages, stops, etc. are working properly to ensure that the parts will be processed in accordance with the QC and design requirements.
  • Position metal components against dimensional stops, secure with clamping systems, and perform the operation designated by the work center.
  • Perform the required QC check on each component to ensure that it complies with the design and drawing specifications by conducting visual and dimensional examinations.
  • Ensure that all counts of finished products are correct and marked or tagged with the proper identifying marks, as required.
  • Report any defective parts to the area Supervisor.
  • Properly stack and secure all fabricated metal parts with the and deliver to the next workstation, as defined by the process work flow.
  • Maintain and clean and safe work area at all times.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • 2+ years of related work experience in fabrication or a production setting.
  • Experience using design software (Inventor preferred).
  • Ability to edit raw G-code, read and edit Basic or iLogic.
  • CNC programming knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with aluminum fabrication.
  • Can read blueprint and specification documents.
  • Ability to count accurately and record production data.
