Job description

Workiva is seeking a Director of GTM Technical Delivery who is equal parts technical visionary and operator. You will lead developers, admins, QA, and DevOps professionals responsible for the systems that power our sales, marketing, and partner operations while simultaneously driving a new standard for how that work gets done-accelerating delivery, embedding AI into daily practice, and building a team that is operating innovatively.

This is a critical leadership role for someone who wants to be at the intersection of technical vision, people leadership, and long-term platform thinking. You will be expected to provide strong day-to-day guidance, foster a culture of execution and accountability, and elevate the GTM Systems function to be a trusted, strategic partner across the business.

What You'll Do

  • Organizational Leadership: Serve as a key leader in the GTM Systems organization, establishing clarity, direction, and measurable outcomes for your team. Inspire and grow technical talent while setting high standards for ownership and delivery

  • Architect and Scale: Define technical architecture and system design patterns across our GTM stack, prioritizing scalability, maintainability, and flexibility. Make thoughtful architectural decisions that balance long-term scalability, cost, and maintainability

  • Platform Engineering Leadership: Lead a team of developers, admins, QA, and DevOps to deliver reliable solutions across Salesforce, CPQ, partner tools, and marketing automation platforms. Ensure strong engineering practices, including code review, CI/CD, and test automation

  • Team Development: Hire, mentor, and grow engineering talent across roles and levels. Provide clear expectations, regular coaching, and career development opportunities to build a strong bench of future leaders

  • API and Integration Strategy: Own integration design using best practices for APIs, event-driven architecture, and middleware tools like Workato. Ensure reusable, scalable connectors and efficient system orchestration

  • AI for GTM: Stay current on AI applications across the GTM tech stack, including predictive analytics, enrichment, scoring, and automation. Introduce intelligent solutions when they improve speed or quality

  • AI for Technical Teams: Identify opportunities to embed AI into the technical team's daily practice, build the implementation roadmap, and drive adoption across developers, admins, and QA - from AI-assisted development and automated code review, to intelligent test generation and anomaly detection, to AI-driven configuration analysis and org health monitoring. Measure and demonstrate productivity and quality gains to build momentum and sustain a culture of continuous AI-enabled improvement across the full delivery lifecycle.

  • DevOps Ownership: Ensure CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes are robust and efficient. Guide infrastructure and automation standards in partnership with your DevOps Engineer and QA team

  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with business-facing Product Owners (BSAs), SalesOps, MarketingOps, and partner teams to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions

  • Innovation and Technical Strategy: Identify emerging technologies and define long-term platform direction. Influence broader GTM systems strategy and help shape the future roadmap

What You'll Bring
Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise or SaaS engineering roles, including 5+ in a technical leadership capacity

  • Proven experience leading high-performing, cross-functional technical teams, with a track record of building culture, trust, and accountability

  • Demonstrated experience in technical architecture, systems design, and integration planning

  • Deep understanding of REST APIs, data modeling, system interconnectivity, and security best practices

  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with middleware platforms (e.g., Workato, Mulesoft)

  • Familiarity with AI/ML use cases in a GTM context (lead scoring, enrichment, chat, etc.)

  • Experience embedding meaningful AI practices across the technical teams (devs, admins, QA), helping improve the efficiency and efficacy of the team

  • Experience in Agile development and modern DevOps tooling (GitHub, CI/CD, automated testing)

  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence across technical and non-technical audiences

  • Master's Degree in related field

  • Salesforce certifications or relevant technical credentials are a plus
