Job Description Summary

Writes, debugs, executes and maintains the source code for software applications. Typically works under the direction of a Lead Developer. Likely to involve working closely with business analysts to ensure requirements are clear and well understood, with other developers to ensure the approach and code can be integrated, and with the application software testers to support their testing plans and resolve bugs. Also needs to conduct their own unit tests and ensure their code meets any performance standards.

Job Description

This position follows our hybrid-friendly schedule, so you get the best of both worlds - flexibility and collaboration. In office days will be 2-3 per week averaging 10-12 days per month in our St Petersburg, FL Corporate Office.

Summary:

Raymond James is seeking a highly skilled and self-driven Senior Application Developer with deep expertise in Angular 2+ and strong experience in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SASS, Responsive Design, and Reactive Programming.

You'll play a key role in developing and enhancing a critical Wealth Management application used by Financial Advisors. As part of a dynamic technology team of talented developers and architects, you'll contribute to high-impact, priority projects in one of the firm's fastest-growing divisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with team members on the design, development, testing, and support of advanced business solutions using Angular

  • Taking hands-on ownership of features from concept to deployment

  • Leveraging modern web technologies to deliver world-class user experience

  • Work independently to analyze complex system requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.

  • Support and enhance existing portfolio management functionality within the Angular space.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers and team members.

  • Participate in code reviews, system testing, and validation procedures.

  • Ensure adherence to best practices in software engineering, including CI/CD, modular design, and secure coding standards.

  • Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to enhance system performance and maintainability.

  • Participate in production support rotations and respond to escalated issues as needed.

Skills:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, NodeJS, Responsive Design and Reactive Programming, Ag-Grid, e-Charts.

  • 4+ years of experience with a front-end developer using Angular 2/14, Typescript.

  • Strong expertise with HTML, CSS, and writing cross-browser compatible code.

  • Experience in micro frontend architecture to build scalable, maintainable, and modular UI solutions.

  • Experience with REST API integration.

  • Experience in troubleshooting, tuning, and optimizing rendering time, memory & network utilization.

  • Experience in financial services or enterprise-scale applications is preferred.

  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

  • Working in an Agile environment to deliver solutions iteratively and efficiently.

  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, object-oriented design, and design patterns.

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practice and Jenkins, GIT, TFS, Sonar.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience in REST services using Java and Spring.
