Job Summary:

You will be responsible for independently negotiating and maintaining the best pricing for new items and for recurring items within designated contracts. You will provide technical review of parts and drawings and maintain database for on-going technical data updates from customers. In addition, you will maintain a sufficient supplier base per item to meet contact specifications.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate relationships with suppliers for the assigned contracts. Maintains supply chain redundancy where possible to achieve best cost and quality.
  • Work to continuously improve costs and drive down supply lead times. Establishes tiered supplier cost on an individual item basis.
  • Responsible for obtaining current pricing, lead time and performing data entry.  Manage workload for assigned commodities and/or specific contract items.
  • Review, monitor, and take action to replenish stocked items.  Performs inventory forecast analysis based on sales history and customer demand. 
  • Maintain quality assurance and contract compliance in accordance with government requirements and AS9120B standards. May include First Article Testing and other quality test procedures. Manages technical data.
  • Interact and communicate effectively with all levels of management as well as external providers.
  • Work with the internal and external stakeholders to address non-conformances and bring to resolution.
  • Issue purchase orders for assigned commodities and or specific contract items.  Follows up on backorders, expedites delivery or reschedules delivery of orders.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, or 3 years of procurement experience. 
  • Proven experience in procurement, or supply chain preferred. May include military personal who have been formerly trained or have a relevant experience in lieu of civilian experience. 
  • Excellent negotiating skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Highly meticulous and organized to execute multiple projects at once, adhering to deadlines.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical data and drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Must be able to engage in and exchange communication with others in all situations.
  • PC proficiency in Microsoft Suite products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and inventory management software a plus.  Proficiency using JDEdwards EnterpriseOne Software highly preferred.
  • Required to be a U.S. citizen or hold a permanent residency (green card holder).
