Job description

**This is a base plus incentive role. Candidates awarded the position can expect a base pay of $43,000 and high performers can expect a generous and competitive monthly incentive and annual payout.**


Primary Purpose of Job

Works collaboratively with a Financial Advisors (FAs) and Sales Manager to proactively grow and service an existing client base, along with developing new clients.

Major Job Accountabilities

  • Develops, recommends and implements a financial plan with investment strategies that incorporate investments and insurance products (including advisory, mutual funds, annuities, equities, fixed income investments, life insurance, etc.) tailored to specific client needs and goals.
  • Takes lead from Sales Manager and other Financial Advisors, who serve as co-mentors to AFA.
  • Develops and executes business plan in assigned territory in conjunction with the FA and Sales Manager.
  • If applicable, works with assigned FA with their existing book of business: taking over smaller clients of the FA while also building their own business in assigned branches based on client segmentation thresholds as determined by management. Attends client meetings and deepens new and existing client relationships by uncovering additional business opportunities in alliance with the FA(s) to close the business.
  • Generates referrals from networking with branch and business partners (i.e. Home Loans, Business Banking).
  • Conducts seminars/presentations to grow the business and solicits prospective customers for investment and insurance products and services in assigned branches.
  • Conducts branch meetings and training with LBE and branch teammates on a regular basis for all assigned branches to mine business opportunities for both FA as well as AFA.
  • Identifies leads and actively generates ideas to connect with current and prospective clients. Contacts all assigned leads and branch referrals for appointments and sales presentations. Tracks and reports results to branches and/or management.
  • Meets production and revenue goals as determined by management. Attends coaching and training sessions with Sales Manager and FAs to improve sales skills and industry knowledge.
  • Determines customer suitability for investment and insurance products by using the financial profile worksheet or its equivalent and analyzing the customer’s financial status.
  • Assists with Licensed Sales Assistant duties and responsibilities as necessary.
  • Keeps abreast of new planning tools, products, and resources, changing regulations and professional standards.


Experience Required

Minimum two (2) years of Direct sales experience in the Securities and/or insurance industry.

Required Skills or Training

  • Understanding of and compliance with all aspects of ASB & Cetera policies and practices, including laws and regulations governing the duties and responsibilities of investment sales.
  • Willingness to be coached and learn sales strategies and financial planning concepts.
  • Able to work during the business hours of assigned bank branches.
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills to communicate effectively with both individuals and groups
  • Demonstrates competency in use of computer applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), email applications, and internet search engines.

Professional Certifications, Licenses, and/or Registration Requirements

  • Holds current Hawaii Life and Health licenses and SIE, 7, and 66 securities registrations.
  • Valid US Driver’s License and access to a personal vehicle is preferred.
