Job description

Finance Manager, FP&A and Analytics
We are seeking a strategically minded leader, analyst, and top notch problem solver to provide financial leadership for the PULSE Network organization. A successful analyst can expect to begin owning larger projects over time and leading other analysts. Focus on teamwork and building long-term trusted partnerships, both within the team and beyond, are essential to success. Strong interpersonal skills, poise, a sense of humor, and a willingness to roll up one's sleeves and tackle diverse challenges as they come are invaluable in this role.
Core responsibilities will include:
  • Executive communication: Impeccable written and oral communication credentials, coupled with strategic influencing skills and the ability to drive agreement through intellect, interpersonal and negotiation skills
  • Learning Agility: Successful track record of thriving in a fast paced, entrepreneurial and dynamic environment
  • Clear results orientation: Display an intense focus on achieving both short and long term goals. Be able to drive and execute an agenda in an uncertain and fluid environment

Example Projects:
  • Evaluate PULSE's customer portfolio and broader economic trends in order to recommend opportunities for strategic growth
  • Produce executive-level reporting of PULSE financial performance and projections, including deeper analysis of segment performance, especially for Capital One's debit card volume
  • Determine how to effectively leverage Capital One's data and technology infrastructure to differentiate ourselves in particular markets or business segments
  • Develop and deploy financial frameworks that support destination technology decision making
  • Diagnose the performance and strategy of our competitors to enhance our strategic positioning
  • Communicate strategic vision and outcomes to members of PULSE's executive leadership team

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience
  • At least 5 years' of experience in financial analysis
  • At least 5 years' of experience with financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master's Degree in Finance
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • 6+ years' of experience in financial analysis
  • 6+ years' of experience with financial modeling
  • 2+ years' experience managing a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft PowerPoint or Google Suite

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.
Houston, TX: $138,100 - $157,700 for Manager, Financial Analysis
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
