We are looking for Field Service Engineers. This position will be based in Phoenix, AZ.
In this hands-on, field-based role, you'll support customers by commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting power distribution and protection systems across a wide range of industrial environments. The role is highly travel-oriented and focused on medium- and high-impact field execution, with opportunities to work on both greenfield and brownfield projects nationwide. This position supports Siemens' Electrification Automation business and plays a key role in ensuring safe, reliable system performance for our customers.
You'll make a difference by:
  • Install, test, commission, and start up low- and medium-voltage power distribution equipment (480V-38kV) at customer sites
  • Develop and execute test plans for protection and control relay systems, including troubleshooting, validation, and use of relay testing equipment/software (e.g., Omicron, Doble, DIGSI, Protection Suite)
  • Perform hands-on commissioning and troubleshooting of systems from multiple manufacturers, including Siemens SIPROTEC, SEL, and GE Multilin
  • Develop switching procedures and methods of procedure (MOPs), while providing guidance on electrical safety practices
  • Support greenfield and brownfield installations, warranty responses, maintenance, retrofit projects, and extensive travel across the U.S. to meet field and project needs
  • Document work performed and test results, while collaborating with customers, partners, and internal teams to provide technical support, training, and consulting

Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 4+ years of experience with the following:
    • Field-based commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical power distribution systems
    • Protection and control relays (SEL, GE Multilin, Siemens SIPROTEC) and associated configuration software
    • Relay testing equipment such as Omicron and/or Doble test sets
    • Low- and medium-voltage switchgear, breakers, and electrical control circuits
    • Interpreting test data, assessing equipment condition, and producing clear technical documentation
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to approximately 80% domestically (higher travel may be required if not Reno-based)
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
  • 10+ years of field service experience in commissioning and troubleshooting power distribution systems
  • Additional field service experience in transmission, distribution, or apparatus testing environments
  • Hands-on experience commissioning specific relay models (e.g., SEL 751 or similar)
  • Knowledge of high-voltage and SF6 gas circuit breakers
  • Experience supporting large-scale industrial, utility, or data center power projects
  • Industry certifications or safety training such as NETA, NICET, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, MSHA 46/48, or TWIC card

The pay range for this position is $74,970 - $156,794 annually with a target incentive of 5-10% of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
