Senior Engineering Technician - Advanced Power Generation

Contract to Possible Hire Pay: $59.32/hr Green Card Required

Onsite | Within 50 miles of: Overland Park, KS • Ann Arbor, MI • Cary, NC • Denver, CO • Houston, TX • Phoenix, AZ

Position Overview

The Senior Engineering Technician supports the Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) team, contributing to complex Advanced Power Generation (APG) and infrastructure projects. This role leads design efforts, produces high‑quality civil/site development deliverables, and provides technical oversight across multidisciplinary project teams.

You will apply advanced engineering design expertise using Autodesk Civil 3D, Bentley MicroStation, and Bentley OpenPlant Modeler to develop and refine site development plans, grading, drainage, utilities, and related civil infrastructure components.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design Leadership — Lead and guide design teams; ensure quality, consistency, and adherence to standards.

  • Technical Expertise — Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex design challenges.

  • CAD/BIM Production — Create and modify drawings, models, and documentation using Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenPlant.

  • Quality Assurance — Review inputs, verify compliance with codes/standards, and maintain drawing control and project records.

  • Project Coordination — Collaborate with other design groups; communicate requirements, progress, and schedules.

  • Mentorship & Training — Provide guidance, training, and technical support to junior technicians.

  • Process Improvement — Support development of design standards, process improvements, and change‑management initiatives.

  • Field & Startup Support — May assist with field activities, control system programming, or plant start‑up tasks.
