Matrix New World is currently seeking a Associate Marine Structrual for the New York/New Jersey metro area. Matrix is a growing environmental and engineering firm offering unmatched expertise in delivering some of the nation's most exciting and complex coastal infrastructure, resiliency, and sustainability projects, including such projects as FiDi Coastal Resiliency, Blue Highways, and Bush Terminal Pier 6 Redevelopment.
As an Associate Engineer, you will be responsible for performing the inspection, design, and/or analysis of marine and coastal structures. You will perform engineering calculations, prepare contract drawings, specifications, and permitting applications.
Base Annual Salary Range: $70,000 - $90,000
What you'll do:
  • Perform inspection, design, rehabilitation, permitting, and/or construction oversight for bulkheads, piers, marine terminals, fendering and mooring systems, ferry landings, living shorelines, stone revetments, and other port-related infrastructure.
  • Prepare engineering deliverables including contract drawings, specifications, 3D models, cost estimates, permit applications, inspection reports, calculation packages, and operations manuals.
  • Perform structural, coastal, and geotechnical engineering design of concrete, steel, timber and masonry structures using applicable codes and standards under the supervision of a professional engineer.
  • Perform above water and underwater survey/imaging/mapping of berths and marine structures.
  • Perform above water inspection of marine structures.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BS in civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 0 to 2 years of structural otr geotechnical engineering experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • MS in civil, structural, or geotechnical engineering
