Job description

Position Summary
We are seeking an EHS Specialist to support environmental, health, and safety compliance initiatives for our clients in Puerto Rico.This role requires regular visits to multiple client sites across Puerto Rico.
Essential Functions
  • Contribute to a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor applicable regulations and industry best practices, recommending programs, systems, and corrective actions for assigned sites and enterprise-wide consideration.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure accountability, transparency, cross-functional collaboration, and effective communication within the EHS function.
  • Investigate incidents and prepare required reports, including injury reports, insurance claims, investigation reports, and performance metrics.
  • Support a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses, and property damage events.
  • Ensure follow-up actions are completed and documentation is maintained properly.
  • Conduct, coordinate, and track EHS-related training programs.
  • Perform routine safety observations and inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Maintain internal and regulatory reporting, including environmental data collection and reporting.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact during regulatory inspections, permitting, and compliance reporting.
  • Maintain compliance with permits, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
  • Stay current with changes in environmental and safety regulations affecting client operations.
  • Participate in manufacturing and operational meetings to address safety and compliance matters.
  • Promote strong client relationships through professional conduct, open communication, and trust.
  • Support workers' compensation administration.
  • Assist with waste management programs, manifests, regulatory reports, inspections, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Participate in ergonomic assessments, inspections, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Associate Degree in Engineering or Science required.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.
  • 8 - 10 years of experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to travel regularly and visit multiple client sites throughout Puerto Rico.
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle equipment or tools, and communicate effectively. The employee may occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may lift 25-35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Work may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, fumes, odors, elevated work areas, confined spaces, and moderate noise levels.
