Job description

General Summary

The Warehouse Automation Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day technical ownership and operational support of the warehouse automation ecosystem, including robotics, conveyor systems, warehouse control systems, software applications, databases, hardware, and integrations with the Warehouse Management System (WMS). This position supports the WHOLESALE Footwear business.

The responsibilities described below are considered essential functions of the role. This position is based in our CA Warehouse office and requires working on-site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical owner and administrator of the Geek+ warehouse automation system.
  • Support and maintain all components of the automation environment, including:
  • Robotic pick-and-pack systems
  • Conveyor systems
  • Warehouse control systems (WCS)
  • Software user interfaces and applications
  • Databases and system configurations
  • Hardware and automation controllers
  • Integrations with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Monitor system performance, uptime, throughput, and operational health.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and deadlines with support and resources as needed
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Specific Job Skills:

  • Strong mechanical and systems troubleshooting skills
  • Understanding of warehouse robotics and automation technologies
  • Familiarity with conveyor systems, sensors, controls, and industrial automation
  • Knowledge of databases, software administration, and system configurations
  • Ability to analyze logs, alerts, and automation performance metrics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Comfortable working across both software and hardware environments

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering or related technical discipline
  • 3-7 years of experience supporting or managing complex automated systems in warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or industrial environments.
  • Hands-on experience working with systems that combine: Robotics, Automation controls, Conveyor systems, Software platforms, Databases, System integrations
  • Strong troubleshooting experience in operational environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with warehouse automation or robotic systems such as: Geek+, AutoStore, Dematic, Swisslog, KNAPP, GreyOrange, Ocado or similar warehouse robotics and automation platforms
  • Experience integrating automation systems with WMS or ERP platforms
  • Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, controls, APIs, networking, and industrial systems
  • Understanding of warehouse and fulfillment operations

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $140,000-$150,000. Ranges are based on various factors such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
