Job description

Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus inour Field Services department as a Electrical Service Technician. As a Electrical Service Tehcnician your responsibilities include performing testing, maintenance and repair of low and medium voltage circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control and other electrical apparatus in the shop and in the field.ย 

ย *TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDEDย 

Responsibilities
  • Performing testing on low and medium voltage breakers including Megger, Ductor, Hi-Pot, Hi-Current, and Timing testsย 

  • Completing mechanical work and repairs on breakers and switches, including tear down, refurbishment and parts replacementย 

  • Wiring circuit breakersย 

  • Utilizing and accurately reading test equipmentย 

  • Reading schematics and wiring drawingsย 

  • Troubleshooting circuit breaker controlsย 

  • Reading and plotting time-current curvesย 

  • Testing transformers, including Power Factor and TTRย 

  • Accurately and consistently documenting using Power DBย 

  • Able to work with electrical tools and socket setsย 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diplomaย 
  • 1-5 years' related experience in commercial and industrial maintenanceย 
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or commercial power systems testingย 
  • Reference and complete assignments as described in applicable specifications
  • Perform regular field work both indoors and outdoors
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, business acumen, management ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Valid Driver's license and good driving record
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English (inclusive of reading and writing) due to the nature of safety-related materials, documentation, and interactions with clients.
  • Prefer an Associate's degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power & Controls (EPC), or an Electrical Engineering Degree from an ABET accredited college, similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee)
  • Prefered experience as Wind Turbine Technician, Solar Technicinas or Electricians
