Position Summary
The Production Associate plays a vital role in ensuring that weekend worship experiences and special events are executed with high technical excellence. Under the guidance and leadership of the Production Director and Weekend Experience Director, this role focuses heavily on recruiting, training, and building a thriving community of production volunteers. The Production Associate will provide hands-on technical support across video broadcast, film capture, lighting, and ProPresenter asset management, serving as a key driver behind the scenes to help people encounter God. Reports to the Production Director and collaborates closely with the Creative Team members on staff.
Essential Functions
  • Actively scout, recruit, onboard, and welcome new volunteers into the production ministry, and develop a leadership pipeline to allow people to grow.
  • Lead, encourage, and develop volunteers across multiple skill levels through 1:1 coaching, group trainings, and regular care.
  • Schedule and coordinate volunteer production teams for weekend services and special events using Planning Center.
  • Manage, format, and organize weekly ProPresenter scripts, ensuring all lyrics, scripture graphics, announcement slides, and video elements are accurate and distraction-free.
  • Support ProPresenter operators on weekends, training them on operating and editing graphics.
  • Assist the Production Director in setting up, monitoring, and operating live video systems for high quality broadcast.
  • Support the capture of live service elements, teaching, and worship footage; ensure proper camera positioning, framing, and best practices are followed to create an engaged visual experience of the service in the room and online.
  • Collaborate directly with the Weekend Experience Director and Production Director during rehearsals and live services to execute the service plan.
  • Assist with maintaining clean and organized production spaces around campus including the sanctuary, other gathering spaces, and the student center.
  • Serve as a flexible team player, prepared to backfill and directly operate AVL (Audio, Video, Lighting) equipment during live services as needed.
  • Assist with basic video editing and capturing in our video studio such as podcasts, testimonies, & other video projects.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships by living out our staff values.
  • Additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years' experience in a live church production or similar technical environment.
  • Demonstrated passion or experience in recruiting, training, and motivating volunteer teams.
  • Hands-on experience working within a multi-site or local church ministry setting.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Flexibility to adapt quickly to live changes during services and rehearsals.

Skills
  • High proficiency with ProPresenter software and slide formatting for both in-room and broadcast environments.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of live broadcast environments, PTZ/cinema camera operation, and multi-cam workflows.
  • Familiarity with church scheduling and service planning software (e.g., Planning Center Services).
  • Strong relational and coaching skills, with the ability to translate complex technical tasks into clear instructions for volunteers.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to details (visual graphics, cable management, etc)
  • Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and positive demeanor under pressure in live production settings.
  • Strong collaborative spirit, eager to receive feedback and learn under the direction of leadership.
  • Hungry to learn new things, and help others do the same.

Work Conditions
  • This job regularly operates in a church setting with offices, classrooms, production booths, auditoriums, and backstage environments.
  • Must be physically fit to perform a variety of tasks, including lifting, carrying, and moving production gear up to 50 lbs.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand for long periods, walk quickly across campus, climb ladders, and use hands/fingers to operate technical equipment and computers.
  • This role is onsite at a Menlo Church Campus. Days of work are Sunday-Thursday with an occasional Friday, Saturday, or evening as needed.
