Position Summary

Vista Equity Partners is seeking an Associate Director, Brand Strategy & Content to join its Marketing team. This individual will serve as a senior content and communications strategist, responsible for executive communications, thought leadership, integrated campaign execution, and editorial quality across the firm’s external channels. The role sits within the Brand & Content Marketing function and reports to the VP, Brand & Content.


This is a high-visibility role that requires exceptional writing, sharp editorial instincts, and the ability to translate complex financial and investment concepts into compelling narratives for institutional investors, financial advisors, and the broader enterprise software and AI ecosystem.


Responsibilities

Thought Leadership Content Strategy & Production



  • Develop and distribute engaging content across owned and social channels.

  • Lead creation of executive thought leadership, market commentary, investor education materials, and industry insights.

  • Produce high-quality written content including articles, newsletters, white papers, Q&A, event recaps, and long-form thought leadership pieces.

  • Identify timely market themes and emerging trends relevant to investors, advisors, and the software ecosystem.


Executive Communications



  • Partner with senior executives to develop messaging, talking points, and written content for conferences, investor events, podcasts, and other external-facing channels.

  • Manage end-to-end project execution for executive communications initiatives, coordinating across stakeholders, timelines, approvals, and deliverables to ensure high-quality content is delivered on schedule.

  • Support preparation of keynote presentations, fireside chats, and panel discussions.

  • Ensure consistency of messaging and voice across all external communications.


Campaign Execution



  • Develop content and creative for integrated marketing campaigns spanning email, web, social, paid media, and other digital channels – ensuring messaging is audience-appropriate, on‑brand, and optimized for each channel.

  • Lead campaign messaging strategy in partnership with product, capital formation, and distribution teams, translating business objectives into compelling multi‑channel content programs.

  • Write compelling, audience‑specific content for financial advisors, institutional investors, and other key stakeholders across the investor journey, from awareness through engagement and conversion.

  • Collaborate with Marketing Operations to ensure seamless campaign deployment across automation platforms, CRM systems, and digital distribution channels.

  • Monitor campaign performance and apply insights to continuously refine content strategy, messaging, and creative execution across channels.


Editorial Leadership



  • Serve as a trusted editor and communications partner across the firm, providing strategic guidance and editorial support for a wide range of internal and external communications.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to transform complex concepts, technical information, and investment insights into compelling, audience-appropriate content.

  • Maintain rigorous quality standards for accuracy, clarity, and consistency across all outputs.


Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of experience in content strategy, communications, or marketing — ideally within asset management and/or software technology.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated ability to write in multiple voices and for varied audiences.

  • Deep understanding of institutional and wealth channel investor audiences, combined with fluency in technology and AI concepts

  • Experience at leading financial institutions (e.g., global investment banks, asset managers) or enterprise technology organizations is strongly preferred.

  • Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple workstreams and stakeholders simultaneously.

  • High editorial standards and meticulous attention to detail.
