Integrated Engineering (http://www.int-engineering.com/) is now part of PRIME AE Group (www.primeeng.com), a multi-discipline A/E firm with a combined 17 office locations/over 430 employees within the Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeast Regions.
We are seeking a creative, highly talented Associate Director | Kentucky Water Division (focusing on Water/Wastewater) to be located at any of the Integrated Engineering Kentucky office locations:
  • Louisville
  • Lexington
  • Florence
The initial primary focus of this role will be to expand into the local (Kentucky), large-scale, Water/Wastewater market with the technical assistance of the existing Water/Wastewater Team located in the (3) Kentucky offices but also Akron, Columbus, Cincinnati (Ohio), Baltimore (Maryland) and New York.
Position Overview
This is a key management position with overall responsibility for continued growth and further development of PRIME AEโ€™s Water/Wastewater business in the Kentucky region, including:
  • Growing PRIME AEโ€™s public sector water/wastewater business through winning and executing engineering and construction services (planning, design, design/build and CM/CI services) for federal, state and local water/wastewater clients.
  • Leadership and proactive collaboration with key Water Business Line leaders, marketing teams and operations managers in offices across the company in the development, implementation and achievement of strategic and business development goals.
  • Leadership in the pursuit of specific water/wastewater project opportunities - Water/WW Treatment Plants, large pump stations - including participating in Go/No Go decisions, development of pursuit strategies and proposals, and hiring/mentoring of staff for key projects.
  • Project participation through active involvement in water/wastewater project work including consulting assignments, management and peer review, as appropriate.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
  • Market and continue growing the public sector Water business in the Kentucky region focusing on federal, state and local municipal clients in the water/wastewater markets.
  • Able to demonstrate an established career (15+ yearsโ€™ experience) in Water/Wastewater, specific to stormwater management, water quality, wastewater collection and pumping, wastewater treatment, water distribution and storage, water treatment, and/or flood management and controls.
  • Experience in a wide range of projects including water/wastewater planning and design, water quantity and quality, TMDLs, GIS, wastewater master planning, sewer system design, and design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling for sanitary sewers, regulatory compliance, water and wastewater system studies/reports and associated design of improvements, and environmental services.
  • Serve as Project Manager and/or Project Principal key water and wastewater (treatment plant/pump station) projects.
  • Development of specific strategies for increasing the public sector Water/Wastewater Business market share in Kentucky.
  • Participating in Go/No Go decisions and developing Teaming Agreements/MOUโ€™s for Teaming.
  • Leading/assisting in identifying, tracking, positioning and pursuing major public sector project opportunities.
  • Working with the companyโ€™s Business Line Director to identify and develop new pursuits, assisting in the recruitment of key personnel that would enhance the firmโ€™s competitiveness, and growth, in the water/wastewater business.
  • Increasing PRIME AEโ€™s visibility in the public sector water/wastewater business through active participation in state and national organizations, and by performing high quality work.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of projects.
  • Regularly develop and evaluate project plans.
  • Provide leadership, direction and technical guidance on water/wastewater projects.
  • Assess the feasibility and soundness/validity of proposed engineering evaluations.
  • Responsible for ensuring proper quality control procedures are implemented on all projects.
  • Conduct peer reviews and make technical presentations.
  • Identify potential clients and business opportunities.
  • Assist/collaborate with the Marketing Department in proposal writing and development.
  • Lead, manage and mentor water/wastewater staff.
Requirements:
  • B.S Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer in KY, or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Minimum 15+ years working as a Water/Wastewater Engineer with at least (7) years of experience as a Project Manager for projects related to watershed studies, water quality analyses, sanitary sewer system design, pump station design, water system design, and water/wastewater treatment design.
  • Proven experience in business development and track record of sales growth.
  • Proven knowledge of and relationships with statewide clients, potential engineering partners, major contractors, specialty subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Understanding of Teaming Agreements/MOUs and demonstrated ability for getting strategic and timely teaming agreements in place giving due regard to business considerations and risks.
  • Experience working with local governments, including conducting public meetings and presentations.
