Description
The Department of Financial Aid is accepting applications for its Associate Director of Financial Aid position.
Examples of Duties
  • Assist in the development, design, revision, and update of all financial aid publications.
  • Assist in the management, enhancement, or editing of the financial aid public website and student portal aid information webpage.
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of various documentation and records.
  • Prepares periodic accreditation reports, documents, etc., as required by relevant federal and state rules and regulations and established College policies and procedures.
  • Continues to develop professional skills through independent research, networking, attending seminars and workshops, etc. to maintain awareness of current and changing trends in education and specific to student financial assistance.
  • Remain knowledgeable of regulatory issues specific to financial aid and related administrative activities.
  • Represents the University to external constituencies and projects a positive self-image of professionalism, appearance, confidentiality, courtesy, conduct, honesty, fairness, and personal integrity at all times.
  • Direct and/or performs other financial aid activities, as required.
  • Remains flexible and adaptable in work schedules and work assignments as defined by College and Departmental needs.
  • Direct and supervise Financial Aid Counselors and Financial Aid activities.
  • Review student eligibility for outside scholarship funds per University policy and donor guidelines: adjusting existing aid.
  • Other duties assigned.

Typical Qualifications
  • Bachelor' s degree required.
  • Ten (10) years of relevant experience or a combination of education and A relevant experience.
  • Qualifications Ability to use multiple financial aid systems, document management systems, and Windows-based environment and office applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to exercise tact and discretion when dealing with students, families, donors, and staff.
  • Excellent phone and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities, managing time and work flow, and manage multiple, concurrent high priority projects in a time-pressured environment.
  • Ability to understand and explain university policies to others.
  • Ability to work as an effective member of a team, identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills and good judgment.
