Stanton is seeking a strategic and technical Director of Quality Control for our Calhoun GA location. This leader will drive the strategic development of a global supplier management program, ensuring that every sourced product meets clearly defined performance criteria and customer expectations. Through thorough vetting and continuous performance monitoring, you will minimize risk and foster a culture of quality excellence. This role is pivotal in upholding Stanton's commitment to excellence, ensuring our entire product portfolio delivers uncompromised quality, integrity, and performance from the source to the end customer.
Responsibilities Include: (but not limited to):
Strategic Quality Systems & Standards
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System (QMS) to track, report, and resolve quality issues across all product lines (carpets, rugs, and hard surfaces).
  • Oversee internal and external audits to ensure strict adherence to industry regulations, ISO 9001 standards, and accrediting agency requirements.
  • Drive risk avoidance through rigorous and thorough vetting of product quality, performance, and adherence to industry and global standards.

Global Supplier Management & Partnering
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with vendors and manufacturers; monitor supplier performance and evaluate auditing processes to ensure global supply chain adherence.
  • Develop and maintain data-driven supplier scorecards to measure and improve quality performance.
  • Lead the vetting process for global product suppliers to ensure clearly defined fitness-for-use criteria.

Technical Integrity & Continuous Improvement
  • Direct testing procedures and routine inspections to assess raw materials and finished products, ensuring durability, aesthetic, and functional specifications are met.
  • Lead root-cause analyses and develop Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) plans using Six Sigma or Lean methodologies to eliminate defects and improve efficiency.
  • Analyze and report on quality metrics, trends, and performance to executive leadership and regulatory agencies as required.

Operational Oversight & Fiscal Responsibility
  • Provide complete oversight and management of all downgraded inventory.
  • Manage supplier chargebacks, ensuring financial accountability for quality failures.

Leadership & Organizational Culture
  • Recruit, train, and manage Quality Control personnel, providing oversight of multiple QC inspectors daily.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of quality, integrity, and performance excellence within the team.

Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality Management, or a related industrial/scientific field required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 8 to 10+ years of progressive, hands-on quality control/assurance management experience.
  • Strong understanding of machine and hand-woven carpet manufacturing process.
  • Strong understanding of all hard surface manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of installation procedures.
  • Proven expertise in quality control methodologies such as Six Sigma or Lean.
  • Deep knowledge of standards such as ISO 9001 and experience with quality management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of successful process improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to train staff and liaise with external parties.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a strategic team.
  • Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer; must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times to inspect product samples.
