The Position:
The Director of Operations, reporting to the Regional VP of Operations, provides strategic and operational leadership for assigned facilities. This role owns P&L, safety, and service performance across assigned sites, directly leading General Managers to drive consistent execution, continuous improvement, and cost-effective operations that support the organization's current and future growth.

This position works on-site Monday through Friday, from 8am-5pm.

The compensation range for this position is $210K-$225K/year, depending on experience.

How You'll Make an Impact:

  • Own strategic, operational, and full P&L accountability for assigned facilities, aligning site execution with company growth/service goals and delivering budget, cost, and margin targets with General Managers
  • Lead, coach, and manage performance of General Managers, ensuring consistent execution of operational standards, safety programs, and company policy
  • Establish and monitor KPIs/SLAs (OTIF, cost per unit, labor productivity, safety incident rate), reporting performance and improvement plans to the RVP of Operations
  • Standardize processes, systems, and best practices across facilities to reduce variability and support scalable growth; champion WMS, TMS, and other operational technology for visibility and decision-making
  • Serve as primary escalation point for client/operational issues, protecting customer relationships, and partner cross-functionally (Strategic Account Management, Business Process Optimization, Customer Service, Finance, HR) to align operations with account and organizational goals
  • Own safety performance and culture, ensuring OSHA/MSDS compliance and adherence to Barrett's safety, security, and sanitation programs; lead Lean/Six Sigma continuous improvement initiatives
  • Attract, develop, and retain high-performing facility leadership (building bench strength/succession plans); conduct regular site visits and operational reviews to close performance, safety, and compliance gaps
  • Cascade communications between leadership and staff, champion the GGOB program (targets, results, mini games), represent multi-site performance to senior leadership/customers, and perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry-related field required; MBA preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive operations, supply chain, or logistics leadership experience required, including demonstrated success leading multi-site operations.
  • Experience in 3PL, large-scale fulfillment, or distribution strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record owning multi-site P&L in excess of $20M.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and managing KPIs and SLAs (e.g., OTIF, cost per unit, safety incident rate, labor productivity) across multiple locations.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft applications; working knowledge of WMS, TMS, and ERP platforms required. Previous experience with Synapse WMS preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English (Bilingual Spanish/English skills preferred).
  • Strong executive presentation and communication skills, with the ability to represent facility and multi-site performance to senior leadership and customers.
  • Must demonstrate a high level of interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work well under pressure and problem solve across a variety of business processes.
  • Proven experience engaging clients through professional investigative techniques to understand the client’s needs, discover new opportunities and overcome challenges.
  • Able to balance competing priorities, complex situations, and tight deadlines.
  • Strong emphasis on organizational skills and attention to detail.
