At VPL we modernize clinical supply chains to support healthier patients. Our technology-driven solutions and consultative customer experience empower health systems and outpatient pharmacies to build smarter, more resilient supply chains. With over 700 hospitals and a 97 percent customer retention rate, weโ€™re trusted to deliver transparency, cost savings, and peace of mind.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

VPL is looking for a handsโ€‘on DevOps Engineer to help operate and improve our Azure cloud environments and containerโ€‘based application platform. This is a growth role for someone with strong technical fundamentals, curiosity, and a desire to develop deeper skills in cloud operations, automation, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Help operate and maintain VPLโ€™s production and nonโ€‘production Azure environments.
  • Monitor platform health, availability, performance, capacity, security, and cloud consumption.
  • Support application builds, releases, and deployments using Azure DevOps and GitOps workflows.
  • Perform routine administration and troubleshooting across Azure services, containers, Kubernetes, networking, storage, identity, and platform dependencies.
  • Make controlled infrastructure and configuration changes using infrastructureโ€‘asโ€‘code and versionโ€‘controlled processes.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, patching, upgrades, certificate rotation, vulnerability remediation, and resource lifecycle activities.
  • Partner with Development, QA, Architecture, and SRE to resolve environment issues and improve operational reliability.
  • Maintain runbooks and operational documentation and participate in the onโ€‘call rotation after completing onboarding.
What Youโ€™ll Bring
  • Approximately 1โ€“3 years of experience in DevOps, cloud operations, systems administration, application support, software engineering, or a related technical role.
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including compute, networking, storage, identity, monitoring, or security.
  • Experience with Git and exposure to automated build or deployment pipelines.
  • Basic understanding of containers, Kubernetes, and infrastructureโ€‘asโ€‘code concepts.
  • Experience scripting or automating tasks with PowerShell, Bash, Python, or a similar language.
  • Linux and Windows troubleshooting skills and an understanding of networking and security fundamentals.
  • Strong learning agility, attention to detail, communication skills, and a disciplined approach to production changes.
  • Exposure to Azure DevOps, Kubernetes, Terraform, relational databases, messaging platforms, or SaaS production environments is helpful but not required.
How Youโ€™ll Grow
  • Learn VPLโ€™s existing Azure environment and the operational practices required to support it reliably.
  • Develop handsโ€‘on proficiency with Kubernetes, Terraform, GitOps, observability, cloud networking, and modern platform operations.
  • Progress from performing documented operational tasks to independently resolving common issues and improving automation.
  • Build a career path toward advanced DevOps, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or site reliability engineering responsibilities.
Technology Environment
  • Azure DevOps and Git
  • Kubernetes and Linux containers
  • Infrastructure as code and GitOps
  • Cloud networking, identity, monitoring, databases, and messaging
  • .NET and Angular applications
Whatโ€™s In It For You
  • Develop practical cloud, automation, Kubernetes, and platform operations skills.
  • Learn from experienced Architecture, SRE, and Engineering team members.
  • Gain meaningful production experience with a path toward greater technical ownership.
