Job Summary:

The Pension Technology group at HOOPP (Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan) is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Pension Core / Release and Configuration Management (RCM) team. In this role, you will own the reliability, automation, and continuous delivery of the Insight Pension Platform across 10+ environments, from development through production.

You will drive and streamline release pipelines, maintain environment health, and partner with other teams and vendors to deliver high-quality, compliant deployments. The group values challenging the status quo, innovative solutions, team collaboration, and practicality.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to enable reliable, repeatable software delivery across all environments.

  • Maintain 10+ environments, including stability, data refreshes, and deployment readiness validation.

  • Manage platform security posture - implementation and operation of gMSA service accounts, TDE encryption, SSL/TLS for IIS, Azure Key Vault and CyberArk integration, SOD pipeline enforcement, and audit and compliance remediation.

  • Respond to and resolve production incidents as part of the on-call rotation.

  • Champion automation and process improvement - identify manual bottlenecks and build pipeline-driven solutions to reduce manual operations work and improve delivery speed.

  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on release coordination, deployment instructions, and joint infrastructure initiatives.

  • Maintain proper documentation like environment matrices, incident playbooks, configuration steps, and deployment runbooks.

  • Actively participate in Agile Scrum practices, including daily standups, backlog refinement, planning, and sprint retrospectives.

  • Quickly learn, evaluate, and apply new concepts and technologies.

Who You Are:

  • 3+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or operations role.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - or equivalent practical experience in IT operations/infrastructure.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership of deliverables.

  • Demonstrated ability to automate repetitive processes and reduce manual operational work.

  • Comfortable working in on-call rotations and responding to production incidents.

  • Skilled in modern development tools and practices, such as git, CI/CD, and unit testing.

  • Pension, financial services, or regulated environment experience is preferred.

Demonstrated hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Azure DevOps

  • PowerShell, YAML, Python

  • IIS Administration

  • Azure Monitor or similar APM tools

  • Terraform

  • Windows Server administration (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS)

  • Certificate management (SSL/TLS, Key Vault)

  • Networking fundamentals (routing, firewalls, load balancers)

  • MS Dynamics CRM

  • SQL

Nice-to-Have:

The expected annual base salary range for this role is: $71,000 - $109,000 CADThe actual base salary offered to the successful candidate may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, individual's expertise and level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered.This role is eligible to participate in discretionary incentive plan(s), subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan text.This job is for an existing vacancy.
