Position Description
The duties of the Academic Affairs Assistant include independent performance of complex clerical work in support of the college's academic operations. This individual will provide clerical and administrative support to the various administrative, faculty, and staff positions within the college's Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences Division (AHSS), which includes a number of aligned academic majors, as well as Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) programming. Work requires frequent exercise of independent judgment in working with people, academic issues, and technology.The position is based on the Jamestown Campus and may require occasional travel to other college locations.
Qualifications
Required: Associate's degree. Minimum two (2) years business/secretarial/administrative experience. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint. Strong interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills, and ability to function with minimal supervision.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree and experience in Higher Education. Proficient in other Microsoft 365 apps, such as Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint. Experience with Ellucian Banner.
