PSE's New Product Development team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Associate Engineering Specialist - Pole Transfer position!


Specific details regarding the work arrangements for this position will be discussed in further detail during the interview process.

Job Description

Under direct supervision of more experienced staff, prepares solutions to a wide range of technical problems through the application of standard engineering practices and principles. Prepares engineering plans, designs, specifications, standards, cost estimates, evaluations, or studies and may assist in the preparation of higher complexity work of the same nature. Duties may include data and records management, research, project support, and working directly with customers. Project guidelines may need some interpretation and adaptation.

Upholds the safety compliance standards inherent in PSE’s operating and/or field procedures related to work responsibilities. Promotes and supports a culture of total safety.

This position may be subject to random DOT drug and/or alcohol testing.

Demonstrates commitment to conduct business honestly, ethically and consistent with our core values and Code of Conduct.  Ensures duties are performed in accordance with all regulatory compliance obligations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performs various engineering tasks using applications and tools specific to job assignment and discipline. Examples may include: 
    • Assists in the preparation of engineering plans, designs, specifications, and standards.
    • Assists in the preparation of engineering studies to support specific program objectives.
    • Conducts and documents research for system compliance requirements.
    • Assists in the preparation of project cost estimates.
    • Creates and updates job work orders and project documentation including tasks and calculations.
    • Conducts office and field research, measurement and verification of equipment data, and creates and updates equipment records.
    • Reviews engineering and records documents for accuracy and completeness.
    • Performs Data and records management.
  • Ensures compliance with codes, standards, and design requirements.
  • Assists others in making updates to department standards, processes, and tools.
  • Supports emergency response work as requested including immediate and extended restoration efforts driven by weather and other system failures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Two-year technical degree or equivalent technical certificate in design or pre-engineering, or 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills. 
  • Proficient with PC software.
Desired Qualifications
  • Utility operations experience, knowledge of subject matter within assigned area of focus.

The pay range for this position is $72,700.00 - $103,300.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
