Transportation Planning/Analysis Engineering Associate
DKS Associates is currently hiring a Transportation Planning/Analysis Engineering Associate. This position will assist with the planning and operations analysis tasks of various transportation planning projects that may involve
multimodal corridor studies, long-range planning, travel demand modeling and forecasting, safety evaluations, intersection operations analysis and simulation, electric vehicle charging station plans, and data analytics. This
position will apply technical analysis and tools to develop findings and recommendations.

What will you be doing?
  • Performing technical tasks, assisting with the review of technical work prepared by others, and conducting advanced analysis.
  • Safety Analysis: Support transportation safety planning through crash data analysis, safety evaluations, and applying the Safe System Approach.
  • Conducting technical transportation analysis; including traffic operational analysis using Synchro, Vissim, and other traffic and modeling software to analyze the performance or impacts between various travel modes and vehicle types (cars, trucks, bus, light rail, pedestrians, bikes, e-scooters, etc.)
  • Working with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of complex corridor studies, transit operations, area plans, system plans, and other technical transportation projects.
  • Communicating technical findings to project managers and group managers
  • Working on significant project across the west coast and in your own community

What are we looking for?
  • Obtained a Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation, or similar field; Masterโ€™s degree in Transportation Engineering or Urban and Regional Planning desired
  • Preferred - 3 years of experience in Transportation and Traffic Engineering, Transportation Planning, GIS, Statistics, Traffic Flow Theory, or Travel Demand Modeling
  • Interest in transportation systems, active transportation, traffic flow and transportation operations
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Attention to detail and ability to perform self-review of work
  • Ability to write scripts to automate procedures and emulate control logic desired, but not required
  • EIT Certification desired, but not required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Pay Range:
Associate (posted job): $94,000 - 108,600 per year
Assistant: $39.47 - $42.88 per hour
EIT: $36.77 - $38.84 per hour
