JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Math Coach/Tutor (Non-Tenure) Temporary
Based on the continued availability of grant funding, this is a year-to-year full-time position.
Purpose
The role of a Math Coach/Tutor serves the purpose of assisting classroom instructional staff in the full implementation of Common Core State Standards based-instruction aligned to the claims and targets of the CAASPP-Math Assessment and the district's instructional curriculum; modeling best instructional practices; and providing targeted tutorials for small group or individual students to accomplish grade level expectations.

Reports to Site Superintendent and/or Principal.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
o Any combination of: a masters degree in the job-related area of Math or a valid Math Specialist Credential; Instructional Coaching Experience; and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
o A minimum of 5+ years of successful K-8 classroom teaching experience with a concentration in math.
o Successful experience in facilitating adult learning.
o Effective learning and instructional strategies for English Learners, students with disabilities and students with diverse learning needs.
o Learning and teaching District adopted curriculum including: California State Content Standards, Curriculum design, assessments to guide instruction and Laws, policies and procedures applicable to the assignment.
o Maintain confidentiality, as appropriate
