Job description

Position Title: 

Electrical/Instrumentation Technician

Pay Rate

$38.55/hr. Opportunity to get to $48+

Hourly Full-Time 

  • Days (6am-4:00pm - Monday-Thursday/Tuesday-Friday (rotating 4-day weekends off))

  • May cover rotating shift hours periodically (12hr Dupont Schedule)

Job Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Minimum high school graduate, GED, or equivalent work experience 

  • Eligible for employment in the US

    AND the following:

    • At least three (3) years of work experience in INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL systems

  • Must be willing to meet the following requirements:

    • Work in industrial conditions (may be warm/hot, dusty/dirty, around hazardous chemicals, noise, heavy machinery, elevated working surfaces, and confined spaces (with proper safety training and safety protection)

    • Undergo technical online testing, interview, and a formal hands-on assessment of skills

    • Undergo a drug screen for illicit use of drugs as a condition of employment

    • Undergo a job-related health assessment as a condition of employment

    • Submit to periodic drug screens as a condition of employment

    • Work any shift and/or a rotating shift schedule

    • Work overtime on a regular basis and with last minute notification

    • Work holidays and/or weekends on a regular basis

    • Wear required safety equipment

It is preferred that candidates have the following skills and/or experience(s): 

  • Associates degree and/or certification(s) in Industrial Maintenance or other related disciplines within instrumentation/electrical.

  • At least five (5) years of work experience in INSTRUMENTATION AND ELECTRICAL systems

  • Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.

The Job You Will Perform: 

This position will work alongside journeymen-level Electrical/Instrumentation maintenance technicians in routine maintenance work as well as performing many duties independently. Our world class Global Manufacturing Training program provides paid hands-on experiences and classroom instruction in order to prepare you for your next promotion 

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Instrumentation:      

  • Troubleshoot, configure, maintain:

    • PLC systems 

    • Single loop controls for various field systems

        Instillation, calibration, troubleshooting various manufactures of analog and SMART instruments and analytical equipment

        Shop and field repair of final control elements such as pneumatic valves, electric valves, solenoid operated valves, calibration of pneumatic and SMART valve positioners

       Reading and interpreting electrical schematics

        Routine and regulatory calibration of field instruments for boilers and environmental systems

    Troubleshoot, maintain pneumatic and hydraulic systems

    Read and redline loop sheets, P&IDs 

    Read and interpret wiring diagrams & electrical schematics 

    Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards

   Calibration and maintaining control instrumentation

AND

Electrician:

    Troubleshoot, install, repair AC and DC drive systems as well as stand-alone process drives of various manufacturers

    Troubleshoot, install, maintain various electrical components such as mechanical limit, proximity, photo electric, speed and reflective switches

     Reading and interpreting electrical schematic

    Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on 480v thru 13.8kv power distribution switchgear

    Understand and follow NFPA70E regulations involving Arc Flash and Shock hazards
