Job description

The Columbia Group (TCG), is a technical services support company which has a successful 50+ year history of providing the United States government with financial management support services, information technology, program management, acquisition, logistics management, engineering, and design. We are seeking Junior to Senior Level Data Scientists to join our team in locations such as: Washington, DC Metropolitan and San Diego, CA. Upon award, the ideal candidate will:

  • Develop and implement a set of techniques or analytics applications to transform raw data into meaningful information using data-oriented programming languages and visualization software. They may also perform the following duties:
    • Apply data mining, data modeling, natural language processing, and machine learning to extract and analyze information from large structured and unstructured datasets.
    • Visualize, interpret, and report data findings.
    • Create dynamic data reports.

Required Education:

  • Junior - Associate's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field; The Government will accept minimum 5 years of professional experience related to the labor category in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Mid - Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field; The Government will accept minimum 10 years of professional experience related to the labor category in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Senior - Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field.

Required Experience and Skill:

  • 1-10 years of related professional experience based on career level showing proficient, competent and developing & emerging skills while performing complex tasks independently and completes assigned tasks on time and to a standard that is satisfactory or better.
  • Senior level positions will provide guidance and oversight to contractors at the junior and mid experience levels.
  • Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, and applicable Navy accounting systems.
  • US Citizenship Required.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance Required.

Preferred Education and Experience Level:

  • Junior - Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Mid - Master's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field.
  • Senior - Master's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 4-12 years of related professional experience based on career level.
