Position Summary: The Cloud Database Administrator Engineer is responsible for the architecture, engineering, automation, security, availability, and operational support of The Client's enterprise database platforms across on-premises and cloud environments. This role serves as a senior technical leader responsible for Db2 LUW, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS database services, and database platform modernization initiatives.

The engineer will design and implement highly available, secure, automated, and scalable database solutions supporting mission-critical payment systems and corporate applications. This position requires deep expertise in database engineering, cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, disaster recovery planning, and enterprise-scale database migrations.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of enterprise database administration and engineering experience.
  • Expert-level experience administering Db2 LUW 11.5+ in Linux environments.
  • Expert-level experience administering Microsoft SQL Server 2019+.
  • Extensive experience with Db2 HADR, Pacemaker clustering, and Q Replication.
  • Extensive experience with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups and related HA technologies.
  • Proven experience designing and supporting cloud database platforms within AWS.
  • Strong experience with AWS RDS, EC2, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, KMS, and AWS Backup.
  • Expertise with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Strong scripting experience using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Experience leading large-scale database migration and modernization initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of database performance tuning and capacity management.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical production systems with stringent availability requirements.

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Cloud Database Engineering

  • Design, deploy, and administer cloud-native database services within AWS and Azure environments.
  • Engineer resilient and scalable database solutions utilizing AWS RDS, EC2-hosted databases, EBS storage, AWS Backup, CloudWatch, and related cloud services.
  • Develop cloud migration strategies for enterprise database workloads using replication-based migration methodologies and minimal downtime approaches.
