Data Center Capacity Consultant

Responsibilities
  • Manage data center capacity and forecast modeling
  • Work directly with Facilities Management teams to assess day-to-day and project deployment impact on Data Center Power, Space, and Cooling
  • Perform/participate in data center space planning to develop rack elevations with potential power consumption
  • Design, build, and event management for related White Space expansions
  • Ensure operational procedures, processes, and Global Standards are adhered to in support of the Data Center Operations teams.
  • Execute administrative and operational policies consistent with corporate and department goals, strategic planning, and BU growth objectives
  • Perform/participate in security, access, and data center audits to ensure compliance with policies and standards
  • Execute postmortem analysis to ensure issues that do impact operations are understood and corrective actions taken
  • Proactively manage key Business units to ensure relationships and workloads are always on target
  • Actively seek new information about changing products, markets, procedures, industry trends, developments and best practices
  • Support the design, build, and maintenance of future data center solutions
Experience and Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or Associates degree
  • Experience in the Financial Sector & Enterprise Data Centers
  • 3-5 years of Capacity Management experience and Data Center Facilities
  • Intermediate understanding of Mechanical & Electrical systems in an Enterprise Data Center Specifically at the rack level, PDU, and UPS
  • Experience working with IT & Facilities engineering teams to asses cutting-edge technologies impact on Data Center environment, power, space, cooling.
  • Working experience with data center operations, low & high voltage, and resiliency/redundancy standards to ensure system availability
  • Monitoring of rack-level design and electrical thresholds/failover values
  • Experience in communicating with all levels of Data Center Management and cross-divisional IT organizations
  • Current on cabling Infrastructure industry standards
  • Project management skills supporting Data Center Physical Layer projects
  • Management supporting of Data Center Moves adds & changes
  • Quality Assurance of Data Center inventory databases
  • Change/risk management
  • Skill in diagnosing and solving complex problems, providing tactical & strategic solutions
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Superior computer skills including all common business applications with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
  • AutoCAD is a plus
  • Knowledge of industry standards and cutting-edge IT technologies
  • Knowledge of Network Inventory databases a plus
