Role summary:
Walmart is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to support business decision-making through advanced data analysis and visualization. This role involves identifying appropriate data sources, ensuring data quality, and applying analytical techniques to translate complex business challenges into actionable insights. The successful candidate will collaborate across functions to align data strategies with organizational goals, develop business cases, and communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. This position requires expertise in data management, exploratory analysis, and visualization tools to drive informed decisions and continuous improvement within a dynamic business environment.
 

About the team:
This role is part of the End 2 End Decision Sciences, Supply Chain Data & Analytics team. The team supports all supply chain networks by delivering executive reporting and solving complex business challenges through actionable insights. Collaborating with operations, product, finance, and executive leadership, the team drives informed decisions to enhance business processes amid evolving technologies. Members gain deep business knowledge and advance their technical skills while providing critical data-driven solutions that propel Walmart’s growth and operational excellence.
 

What you'll do:

  • Work with large datasets and conduct ad-hoc analyses to inform critical business decisions. Create ETLs that pull data from multiple places and centralize it in one table.
  • Develop data visualizations to monitor the impact of changes and unique business challenges.
  • Deliver with speed and quality.
  • Engage with team members and crossfunctional teams regularly and establish credibility. Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information. This includes partnering with Operations, Finance and Product teams on data accuracy across multiple systems.
  • Document processes and share knowledge with peers. Mentor peers as you become a Subject Matter Expert.
  • Independently drive and take ownership of projects.


What you'll bring:

  • Excellent SQL Skills. Capability to manipulate data from multiple tables while keeping the data integrity (4-6 years).
  • Creativity with a User Experience foundation to develop impactful visualization (Tableau, Power BI, Custom) (2-3 years).
  • Ability to tell a story clearly and concisely with data.
  • Business Operations Fluency. Capability to understand and root cause a business problem. A Supply Chain background, preferably with good understanding of Distribution Centers and Fulfillment Centers operations.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Experience applying advanced analytical methods and statistical techniques to solve complex business problems.
  • Skilled in translating business requirements into actionable data solutions aligned with organizational goals.
