Job description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of RN experience and a CT or compact RN license.
Job Details
• MS/Tele unit within a Level I Trauma Center, academic medical center setting,
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM,
• 13-week assignment length,
• Patient ratios average 1:5 days, 1:6 nights, and 1:5 weekends,
• Every other weekend required,
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs,
• No on-call responsibilities required,
• Uses Epic charting system,
Job Requirements
• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date,
• Pending license accepted, but must be active before start date,
• Current BLS certification required,
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, or 1.5 years if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital setting,
• Trauma Center experience at a large facility required,
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response,
• Experience with Rapid Response/Code teams,
• Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols,
• Experience with non-invasive airway management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and peripheral line care,
• 1 professional reference required,
Additional Information
• Provide telemetry-focused nursing care for medical-surgical patients in an academic Level I Trauma Center,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Local candidates not accepted unless residing outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital,
• Former staff members must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler,
• Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved,
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted,
• COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only,
• Travelers may be required to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as part of hospital operations
