Job description

Position Summary:

The Associate Project Manager supports enterprise project management across APMG by coordinating projects, timelines, documentation, and cross-functional communication in alignment with organizational strategic priorities. As part of the Enterprise Project Management Office, this role helps advance consistency, visibility, and accountability across initiatives while supporting effective execution and decision-making.

This person is a strong project coordinator and collaborative partner who can translate complex work into clear plans, practical tools, and actionable updates for stakeholders. They work across departments to support enterprise initiatives, maintain project discipline, and help teams stay aligned on goals, milestones, risks, and resources.

The role is part of the Enterprise Project Management Office and reports to the Director of Integrated Operations. It supports enterprise planning and execution by helping manage project intake, documentation, reporting, budgets, and coordination across strategic initiatives.

Expected Compensation Range: $59,000 -$63,000 per year. The exact salary rate is determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain project plans aligned with organizational strategic priorities, identifying milestones, timelines, dependencies, and key deliverables.
  • Support enterprise project tracking, reporting, dashboards, and budget monitoring, and create templates and tools that improve consistency across initiatives.
  • Foster clear and effective communication with stakeholders to ensure alignment on project goals, status updates, risks, decisions, and next steps.
  • Coordinate cross-functional enterprise initiatives by supporting planning, documentation, scheduling, follow-up, and issue tracking across departments.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support for project management processes, tools, and templates used across the organization, including platforms such as SharePoint, Airtable, Excel, and related systems.
  • Help teams adopt consistent project management practices by reinforcing clear processes, shared expectations, and effective coordination across workstreams.
  • Support continuous improvement by gathering feedback, evaluating project processes, and recommending refinements that strengthen enterprise planning and execution.
  • Provide project management support within the Enterprise Project Management Office for strategic and operational initiatives, including planning, documentation, grant-related tracking, equipment coordination, and budget oversight as assigned.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and other partners to support accurate budget tracking, reporting, and compliance requirements connected to enterprise and department initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned in support of department and personal goals.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellence at using Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook โ€“ and ability to train others on such
  • Solid understanding of project management processes, including developing
    requirements, scope definition, communication, and resource management
    and risk identification.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining essential project documentation,
    including project management plans, issue and risk logs, and status reports

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project support tools such as Airtable and Power BI, with the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Ability to support project management processes, including budgeting, tracking, and coordination
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to manage assignments and maintain accountability across stakeholders with varying levels of seniority
