Job description

About Rivian

Rivian is on a mission to keep the world adventurous forever. This goes for the emissions-free Electric Adventure Vehicles we build, and the curious, courageous souls we seek to attract.

As a company, we constantly challenge what’s possible, never simply accepting what has always been done. We reframe old problems, seek new solutions and operate comfortably in areas that are unknown. Our backgrounds are diverse, but our team shares a love of the outdoors and a desire to protect it for future generations.

Role Summary

The Rivian Creative Studio is looking for a driven and highly organized Experiential and Design Project Manager to spearhead the execution of our physical brand experiences. This role is crucial for managing the design and content lifecycle for all Rivian spaces—including retail environments and service centers—as well as high-impact event activations.

You will be the central operational owner, managing the end-to-end creative journey for physical environments, from initial site briefing to final installation. This position requires a unique blend of architectural design workflow knowledge and experience managing the digital and physical assets that bring a space to life. You will work closely with environmental designers, creative directors, production teams and vendors to ensure Rivian’s physical touchpoints are executed with precision and brand consistency.

Responsibilities
  • End-to-End Ownership: Manage the complete creative process for multiple concurrent environmental projects, specifically focusing on the integration of 2D/3D design, digital content, and physical brand elements.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as the primary liaison between the Creative Studio and key partner teams, including Facilities/Real Estate, Retail Operations, Experiential Marketing, Vehicle Design, Procurement/Finance, and Legal.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Develop and manage detailed project plans and budgets, navigating the complexities of physical build-outs and lead times for custom fixtures and brand assets. Coordinate the creation of site-specific content ensuring it aligns with construction timelines and event dates.
  • Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify and resolve potential roadblocks, such as site-specific technical constraints, vendor delays, or shifting regulatory requirements, to keep projects on schedule.
  • Asset Handoff, Vendor Coordination and Implementation: Manage the workflow for environmental assets—from architectural renders and material palettes to final content delivery for on-site displays.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 6+ years of experience in creative project management—ideally within an in-house or agency environment—and a background in interior design, architecture, graphic design, or experiential events.
  • Project Management Tools: Expert proficiency with project management tools for complex workflow management and reporting.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to clearly communicate project status and technical requirements to both creative teams, cross-functional stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Process Acumen: Deep understanding of the full creative lifecycle, from concepting and ideation through final deployment and archiving.
  • Drive: Highly proactive, self-motivated, and capable of driving multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Basic familiarity with viewing and editing design files (e.g., in Figma or Creative Cloud) to facilitate accurate communication between designers and developers (no design skills required, just navigational competence) preferred.
  • Basic comprehension of how finalized creative assets are integrated by web development teams (e.g., understanding ticket structures in Jira or Agile methodologies) preferred.
  • An interest in electric vehicles, sustainability, and outdoor adventure preferred.
