Position Overview:

· Deliver occupational therapy interventions as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the supervising Occupational Therapist.

· Assist residents with therapeutic exercises and functional activities aimed at improving independence in activities of daily living (ADLs) and mobility.

· Monitor resident responses during treatment sessions and communicate progress, concerns, or changes to the Occupational Therapist.

· Support the use of adaptive equipment and provide instruction to residents and caregivers to promote safe and effective use.

· Maintain a safe, supportive, and engaging therapeutic environment that fosters resident participation and comfort.

· Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning discussions to ensure coordinated, resident-centered care

· Accurately document treatment sessions, resident progress, and observations in accordance with facility policies and state and federal regulations.

· Adhere to HIPAA guidelines, infection control protocols, and OSHA standards to ensure regulatory compliance and resident safety.

Education

· Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

· Current state licensure as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)

Experience

· 1-2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility or geriatric care setting preferred

· Familiarity with PDPM and SNF documentation standards is a plus
