Position Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our amazing Des Moines, IA Manufacturing plant. This is a hands-on, onsite position in Des Moines, IA and full relocation assistance is being offered. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role so candidates on OPT, F1 Visas and the like cannot be considered.
Since 1945, the Bridgestone Des Moines plant has produced agricultural, construction, forestry and off-the-road tires. With more than 70 years of history in the community, many of the 1,300 teammates in Des Moines are second or even third-generation teammates.
As an Electrical Engineer, they will be expected to take ownership of their projects with a continuous improvement mindset and passion for integrating new products and innovations to a manufacturing environment. The position will research, develop, design, and test electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Not only are these teammates technical experts in their field but are recognized subject matter experts typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. This position will be tasked with issues of high complexity, high difficulty, and often high urgency. Responsibilities

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

1.) Engineering design, development, installation, and support. Technical Expertise/Knowledge:

Rockwell Automation products including motion and safety.

Ladder Logic, Safety PLC programming and HMI design.

Allen Bradley software Studio/RS Logix 5000, FactoryTalk View Studio and RSLinx Classic/OEM, Asset Center.

AutoCAD Electrical, Vault, Revit, and other Autodesk suite software.

Fanuc robotics software and operation. Experience in hardware design: low voltage (<600VAC) Power Distribution, UL 508A Controls Design, VFD sizing and Ethernet/IP Networking Architecture.

Determines method of research for the planning, design development and testing of electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Executes electrical design, UL508 panel construction, machine installation, programming, and startup of systems.

Ensures standardization of control systems and components is maintained. Evaluates existing processes and equipment and recommends modifications and refinements resulting in cost savings, quality and safety improvements.

Makes informed recommendations for additions and modifications to new and existing equipment required for manufacturing. Proposes new programs to keep equipment and processes technologically advanced and leading the industry in product quality, productivity, energy efficiency, environmental responsibility and safety.

2.) Project Management

Leads, plans, organizes and controls major projects.

Responsible for reaching agreement with customer on cost, schedule and functionality for each new project.

Responsible for meeting project goals on cost, schedule and functionality.

Handles multiple projects simultaneously.

Coordinates the efforts of other engineers, technicians, plant personnel and contractors.

Responsible for coaching/mentoring other engineers and technicians.

Responsible for Safety Design Process for all projects.

Responsible for Contractor Safety for all projects.

3.) Consulting and Communications

Coaches, reviews, and delegates work to lower-level professionals.

Evaluate processes and communicate with operators to identify key issues through Gemba and Kaizen activities. Supports relationships through strong communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders through cross function teams.

4.) Maintenance of Expertise

Responsible for electrical expertise in multiple areas of the plant.

Attends trade shows, technical seminars, and reads technical publications to keep abreast of the latest technology.

Provides training to other engineers, maintenance and plant staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
